You can help protect yourself from fraud

Capital City Press Federal Credit Union have programs in place to help mitigate fraud and protect your account. However, there are also some simple things you can do.

Follow these steps to spot suspicious activity and protect your account:
  • Double-check your monthly account statements for any unauthorized purchases. (You can also monitor your account activity online)
  • Review your credit reports for accuracy. Call any one of the three credit reporting agencies to receive your free annual credit report.
  • If you spot any unauthorized transactions, please contact us immediately at (225)761-5111.
  • You should also contact the three credit reporting agencies listed above to report any fraudulent activity.
  • Shred personal and financial information before discarding it.
  • Don't give out account numbers or other personal financial information, unless you initiated the call.
If you are a victim of Identity Theft there are many resources available to assist you.


Protect your online purchases with Verified by Visa

Many online merchants participate in the Verified by Visa program to prevent unauthorized online purchases and will require you to enter a password in the Verified by Visa window to complete your online purchase. In stores that are not yet participating in this program, your card will continue to work as usual.

So if you have not enrolled yet and try to make a purchase online at a participating merchant you will need to complete the enrollment process.

The Verified by Visa program helps make the internet a safe, protected environment for your online purchases.

Received call from the Fraud Department - FALCON ALERT

We contract with a company to monitor fraudulent card activity. If the fraud department notices that you have several transactions originating outside the state in which you live or they notice multiple charges authorized in a short period of time they may block your card until they can reach you. The agent will try to contact you by phone using the phone numbers on file, so it is extremely important to verify that we have your current contact information on file.

Compromised Visa Card

On occasion we are notified by Visa of possible security breaches. If your credit card information was identified in a possible breach you will be notified by mail. If you have received a letter from us and would like additional information please contact a member of our Financial Services Team.
